Stephen T Colbert


Stephen T Colbert is a writer/comedian/politicial avtivist and last but not the least a television host. Originally aiming to become and actor he was pulled towards improvisational theatre while attending Northwestern University.


He had worked on a couple of shows before coming on air to a wider audience on Comedy Central's news parody series The Daily Show.


Stephen T colbert has a gift that few have had and has been rewarded for his skills duly.

In 2005, he left the daily show to go for his Big show "The Colbert Report". The Colbert Report is a parody of shows like "The O'reilly Factor". The series has been growing in viewer ship ever since now being rated as the Highest Rated Series. This success not only gained colbert 3 emmy nominations but an invitation to perform at the White House Dinner.

Colbert dropped a few hints that he might run for presidential elections throughout 2007 and speculation soared when it was learnt that he had released his " I am America ( And So Can You). People believed it had the political tinge in it enough get him attention and votes.On October 16, 2007 this speculation turned into a fact that he was indeed taking part in elections and not only from one platform but from both platforms Democratic and Republicans. He believed he could take it away in South Carolina because that is where he was believed to be the "Favorite Son". He later dropped plans to run for Republican due to the enormous fee of $35000.

Despite his rising polls on the Democratic platform, some influentials started to believe that it would be a good idea to drop him out as he did not seem to be a serious candidate and in this case it was taken literally as he aired an ever rising in popularity comedy show. These influential people were the Obama's supporters.

The South Carolina Democratic Part Director, John Werner was reported as saying "The general sense of the council was that he wasn't a serious candidate and that was why he wasn't selected to be on the ballot."

They believed it sent out a wrong signal to the general public that everyone could use the state media run a comedy show, go popular and run for elections. Using the state media as a tool to get into elections, however, was not his intention. Stephen T Colbert is a born talent and used that show to gain popularity and ran various charities and Donations amounting to hundred's of thousand dollars. Finally he decided to work for the people however the influential powers working behind the scenes did not let him do so.
